A system for your follow-through, and a real coach
You make the plan just fine. It's the follow-through that falls apart.
One calm place for your days, plus a coach in your corner - so the follow-through finally happens.
That's the maddening part. The plan was never the problem. The starting is. The remembering it at the moment it matters, instead of at 11pm when it's already too late.
Most tools answer this by handing you more to track- another inbox, another streak, another thing to keep alive. That's the opposite of help. The weight was never the information. It's holding all of it in your head and hoping you act on it in time.
There's a name for the way a brain does this - executive dysfunction - and knowing the name changes nothing. A system you'll actually open does: one that doesn't forget, doesn't nag, and is there the second you reach for it.
The system
Not a tracker. Not one more to-do list to feel guilty about. A single, calm place for what's happening today, what's coming, and the things you keep meaning to start - built on a real coaching framework, not a productivity gimmick.
The app
Habits and metrics you check off as you live them. Every toggle is three-way - done, missed, or untouched - because "I forgot to log it" and "I didn't do it" are different facts, and most trackers lie by pretending they're the same.
Your calendar and your tasks on a single day. Meetings, intentions, and the thing you keep putting off, in one view - so you're deciding what to do, not reconstructing what's on.
Somewhere for what happened and how it landed. It doesn't sit in a corner - what you write threads back into the rest, so the patterns you'd never catch on your own start to surface.
An assistant with the context of your days, your goals, and your history. Ask it where things stand. Log by talking to it. It's the front door to everything else.
It comes with a coach
Functional is invite-only because it isn't self-serve software. It's the part of coaching you use every day - and there's a real person on the other side who looks at your week with you and tunes the system to your actual life.
It runs on Cognizant, the framework behind the coaching, so what you track and plan stays pointed at where you're actually trying to go. The app keeps the work alive between sessions. The coaching makes the app worth opening.
Who's behind it
I'm Zach. I built Functional because I needed it. I could always see what to do - making it happen, without the whole thing living in my head, was the part that fell apart. So I built the system I use to run my own life, and now I run it alongside the people I coach.
It's early, and invite-only. If the plan's never your problem but the follow-through always is, and you want a system and a coach in your corner, tell me a bit about you - I read every one myself.
